Images of ‘Perfection’

Every day, images of ‘perfection’ are thrust upon us on social media. Perfect bodies, perfect make up, perfect life. It’s no wonder our generation are so self conscious and always aspiring to be like their ‘WCW’! After reading a friends article last night, I realised that we live in world where we focus so much on our image, that we forget the important things in life. I won’t lie, I’ve looked at these Instagram famous girls myself and wondered how…

Wigs Wigs Wigs!

I’d always been a bit dubious about trying on wigs, for me that was like the final stage and something that I’d always dreaded. However the last two evenings have been a real eye opener for me, and I’m actually quite excited to say, that I’ve ordered my first one!  Monday evening was spent round a fellow alopecians house. A lovely girl that I have known for years, and we have become closer since realising we both suffer with alopecia….

Where is the bald/hair loss emoji?!

How many emojis would you say that use a day? 10? 50? 100? So many of us send thousands of these cute smileys without even realising. They have become part of our every day life. Texting, whatsapping, snapchatting and they’re everywhere on social media sites! But, one thing I’ve noticed is that they don’t have one which represents being bald. Millions of people in the U.K. alone suffer with hair loss, children and teenagers included. With the emoji family constantly growing,…

What if I go bald? ?>

What if I go bald?

After speaking to lots of you recently I have learnt the thing sufferers of alopecia fear the most, is losing all of their hair. Myself included. So if you’re sat there reading this thinking the same, don’t worry hun, you’re not the only one! I used to be terrified that one day I would lose so much that I would eventually have to wear a wig every day to hide my head from the world. However, to tackle this subject now…

Hi Everyone. Firstly I want to apologise that I’ve not posted recently, I’ve been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster over the last few weeks and have slipped off the radar so to speak. But I’m now back and ready to share every aspect of my alopecia journey with you all. For those of you that have been following my journey so far, will know that I was planning on going out with my hair up for the…

“If you’ve ever lost every part of yourself….”

Until you actually stop and think about what you’ve been through in your life, you never really appreciate just how strong you really are. We all go through situations in life that we struggle with and find hard to deal with at the time. And, we often can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel or visualise that things will eventually get better. No matter what the situation. A break up. The loss of a loved one. Alopecia….

Sneaky peak…

Hi Everyone! Today I had a photo shoot focusing on my alopecia.  It was one of the most nerve wracking things I think I have ever done but it’s something that I had to do to help raise awareness!  Never in a million years did I think that I would be able to do this, it just goes to show how strong I have become throughout my battle with alopecia.  Here is a sneaky peak of one of the photos……
